Hair Density

Hair Density Scalp Micropigmentation is designed for men and women experiencing thinning hair who want the appearance of fuller, denser hair without relying on messy fibers, sprays, powders, toppers, or daily cover-ups. Think of scalp micropigmentation for density as a long-lasting hair fiber tattoo that softly tints the scalp darker to reduce contrast between your hair and scalp, helping areas of thinning appear fuller and more blended.

This treatment is a great option for clients dealing with postpartum hair loss, thyroid-related hair loss, alopecia, hormonal thinning, stress-related shedding, transplant thinning, widening parts, sparse hairlines, thinning crowns, side edge thinning, cowlick separation, or scalp show-through when wearing ponytails or certain hairstyles. It can also help camouflage visible scalp in areas where the hair naturally separates or parts.

Hair density scalp micropigmentation is also an excellent option for clients who have previously had a hair transplant but still feel they lack fullness or density. SMP can help create the appearance of thicker hair by blending between existing hairs and reducing the visibility of the scalp.

The procedure is completed over 3 to 4 sessions, typically spaced out over about 2 months. With each session, I gradually build density by layering soft micro impressions and adjusting tone, spacing, and depth so the result blends naturally and does not look overly saturated or harsh.

Hair density SMP works best when there is enough existing surrounding hair for the pigment to blend into naturally. Typically, ideal candidates are within a moderate thinning range of about 35% to 40% thinning. If there is too much hair loss in certain areas, there may not be enough surrounding hair to camouflage the pigment properly, which can create too much contrast between the tattoo and existing hair. For example, if the front hairline has receded too far or the thinning extends beyond where the natural hair grows, density SMP alone may not look seamless because there is not enough natural hair present to soften and blend the result.

In cases with more advanced hair loss, a different approach, such as a shorter and more uniform scalp micropigmentation style, may be recommended for the most natural outcome.
